When You Arrive on Sunday Morning
All ages and stages begin in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Students are dismissed after Children's Moments with one of the Pastors to meet their teacher in the lobby of the church. Please introduce yourself as a new visitor at the Welcome Center to confirm the day's schedule.
Sunday School
Sunday school is available at both services for students from two years old to seventh grade. Currently, we use a curriculum called Bible Quest. Bible Quest is a whole new approach to Bible study. Developed by nine denominations, including the United Methodist Church, Bible Quest will help children encounter, through discussion and activity, the overall story of the Bible so that they might be shaped by that story. Bible Quest will help children to understand the Bible as story, to connect the story with their own experiences, and to live in the world as disciples of Jesus Christ. It recognizes that every learner is an interpreter. Bible Quest will help us to make the stories of the Bible our own stories through dynamic learning activities that involve all the senses. As we hear, learn, tell and live the stories, they become part of our daily living. Click here to register.
Acolyte Ministry
We invite 4th through 7th graders to join our acolyte ministry. It is a year-long commitment and sign-ups are in August & September. Acolytes bring the light of Christ into the Sanctuary and back out at the end of service. They also assist the pastors with various needs. Kindermusik classes
Play instruments, sign, sing, dance, read and imagine with your child.
Let music be a powerful conductor of their learning!
Kindermusik is a classroom learning experience. We teach children music so they can become better learners. Kindermusik develops skills in the whole child – cognitive, physical, social, emotional, language and musical. We offer age-appropriate classes for newborns to five years old and family music classes to include family members of all ages!

4th & 5th Fellowship
Foothills offers a unique fellowship opportunity for 4th and 5th grade students through the 4th, 5th Fellowship. Every Wednesday night during the school year 4th and 5th grade pre-teens meet from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Youth Center for games and discussions about our relationships with friends, family and God. Pre-teens learn about social skills and good decision making to prepare them for middle school. This program is led by Christian DeMent, Jennifer Harders and Senior High youth who are learning to be in leadership. Sign up here.
Kids Exploration - Wednesdays beginning February 13 for 6 weeks
Children from ages 5 years to 3rd grade are invited to join us in King Hall from 6 - 7:30 pm for singing, bible study and special weekly activities such as games, crafts and surprises. Includes dinner, $30/6 weeks or $6/night. Sign-up here.
Vacation Bible School begins Monday June 23, 2008
This year we are having a Beach Party at Foothills United Methodist Church for Vacation Bible School (VBS)! We are already preparing to give the children of our church and community an exciting journey to the ocean! Each day our children will learn the basics of surfing, ride the wave of God’s love, and go home with a new Beach-Be Attitude.Having a Beach Be-Attitude means being obedient, kind, forgiving, bold and believing.
The fun begins on Monday June 23 and will continue each day through Friday from 8:45am – 12:15pm.
