Adult Fellowship

United Methodist Women umw-strip-v2.jpgThe United Methodist Women organization has deep roots and a powerful mission focus in The United Methodist Church. The organization has more than one million members worldwide. It is organized for the purpose of supporting mission projects locally and globally, providing Christian education for its members, and developing leadership skills for women. At Foothills, members of UMW meet in small groups called circles for fellowship and study, and as a larger group for monthly meetings and programs. There are two ways you can participate in United Methodist Women. One way is through the monthly Sarah/Ruth circle small group, that meets every first Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and the other is through our monthly UMW meetings and dinners, which are typically on the third Tuesday of the month. The purpose of UMW is to know God, develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to participate in local and global ministries of the church.

Contact Alice Broadhurst for more information on the organization. Or visit their website

Gather for breakfast at 7 AM in the Conference Room and be out for a great weekend by 8:30 AM. Women's Retreat womens-retreat-strip.jpg The 2016 women's retreat with San Carlos UMC will take place from September 30 - October 2 at the Vina De Lestonnac retreat center in Temecula. Be in silence, communion and presence in a place of serenity while working together to center our lives and live more fruitfully. Reservations can be made by sending an email to Erin Western, or on the patio after services on May 15.

The retreat is offering a new one-day option this year for anyone who does not want to stay for the entire weekend.
The theme of this year's retreat is 'A Few of My Favorite Things.' Participants do various crafts as well as a service project, hear from guest speakers and enjoy gourmet food (especially at the Sunday brunch). There are times of quiet meditation and times of sharing with women from San Carlos UMC, including a play and an old-fashioned hymn sing. The Sunday morning service in the sanctuary is beautiful. Consider taking part in this rejuvenating time this year.
