Sunday School

A place to Grow

Foothills United Methodist is a place to grow in faith. We provide our children with many opportunities to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Sunday School classes for all children aged 2 years to 5th grade are offered year-round at the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services. For more information on Sunday morning groups for youth in grade 6 and above, contact Anthony Aranico

Childcare is available during all worship services for children six months through preschool, located in the childcare center directly across from the sanctuary. We also make it available for church events by reservation received at least 24 hours before the event.

When You Arrive on Sunday...

Students are dismissed from the sanctuary after the Children's Moments with one of the Pastors. They will then meet their teacher in the lobby of the church. If you're a new visitor, please stop by the welcome center at the front doors to introduce yourself and your child. All youth from 6th grade to high school can join their respective groups immediately.

During the summer our Sunday school students will learn to Live B.I.G!

Each week every Live B.I.G. lesson is based on three big truths:
God is a great big God
God loves us with a great big love
We are a part of God’s great big world

Using music, art, dance, laughter, sign language, discussion, imagination, education, entertainment, sight, sound, cool graphics, hand-on activities, games and craft children 2 years old through 5th grade will experience a Sunday school adventure where they will experience the love of God through Jesus.

Each summer we give our regular Sunday school teachers a well deserved break and ask other adults and youth to lead the classes. This summer’s Sunday school time will provide a wonderful opportunity for those who don’t normally have the chance to spend time with our children to watch them grow as children of God by taking what they learn from Sunday school into their everyday lives. As you teach, you will have the opportunity to grow in your own faith and to live out your own belief in God.

Pat Chagnon will be on the patio May 6 and May 13 signing people up to lead classes. All lesson plans and materials are provided for you. We require all those leading our children to have attended at Foothills UMC for six months or longer and to complete a volunteer application. Pat will be able to answer your questions on Sunday and you can always contact Theresa Erb in the church office during the week at 619-670-4009.
