 Family Events at Foothills

Check out the monthly Family Connection newsletter!

June July 2017
May 2017

Built upon the concept of building a bridge between church and home, this newsletter is designed for families with children ages preschool through 8th grade. Spiritual growth is relationally driven. When church and parents work together in the life of a child or teenager, our potential to influence that child/teen increases dramatically.

In each issue of FamilyConnection, you will find an article highlighting a spiritual strategy for you to try at home. The KidsConnect section gives an overview of what your kids are learning on Sundays and ways to reinforce that learning at home. FamilyConnection includes information about ways your family can serve together—bringing faith to life!

What spiritual topics would you like to see in future issues of FamilyConnection? Send suggestions and ideas to carlaslater@foothillsumc.org.

Special Events

Summer Social Potluck
potluck-strip.jpgEnjoy a time of connection and community together in the Youth Center following our single hour of worship service on 7/23 at 10 am. The social is potluck style: bring what you wish, main dishes, favorite sides or a dessert to share and drop your dish off at the Youth Center on your way to the sanctuary. It's also Vacation Bible School Sunday. Take advantage of this opportunity to get to know the VBS families as well as Pastor Greg and his family. See the VBS table after services or contact the church office. Contact Kathy Glass at 619-741-8622 with any questions.

FX: Family Experience
fx-2016-strip.jpg

FX is on summer break and will resume on October 8

FX is a way for you to experience faith together as a family with a free lunch! Held on the second Sunday of the month from 11:45am-1:15pm, FX helps parents and children experience a different spiritual virtue each month. FX gives parents a “jumping off point” for intentional conversations with their kids during their week. FX is FUN for the whole family! Where else could you use items such as hula hoops, marshmallows, and ping pong balls to explore faith concepts in fun and active ways? Join us for an hour or so of free food, fun, friendships, and faith development!

If you have questions, contact Lisa Stewart, Children & Family Ministries Coordinator.
