Sponsor a Beam - Support the Church
$141,751 has currently been raised
The church beams are in great need of repair to keep our sanctuary structurally and aesthetically strong. It will take everyone's help to raise the $200,000 needed. Watch this video to learn all about our Beam Team Campaign. Click here to donate or read more. Sponsor a beam and join the Beam Team to help us reach our goal.
Single 10 am Services in December
On Sundays 12/11, 12/25 and 1/1, Foothills will be hosting a single hour of worship at 10:00 am. On 12/11, the choir will be performing Handel's Messiah. Be sure to put that on your calendar! On Christmas and New Year's day, there will be one hour of worship at 10 am due to all the holiday fun everyone will be having.
Help Decorate the Sanctuary for Advent
Advent is upon us and it is that time for decorating the sanctuary. Come one, come all on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 9:00 a.m. Many hands make light work.
Seeker's Class Meeting on Wednesday
Have you ever thought, I'd like to know what my pastor thinks concerning __________? The Seeker's Class is your opportunity to raise the topic. Come prepared with a question and the group will spend an engaging hour together. Each class is a stand-alone offering, so you can attend anytime and not be behind. The next class is Wednesday 11/16 at 6:30 pm in the Disciple Room.
Reiki Clinics at Foothills
Foothills' member Kathy Cueva is also an avid Reiki teacher, practioner and even a master. She holds regular clinics at Foothills for people to experience this ancient, light-touch, energy healing technique. The clinics are by appointment only, so please contact Kathy to book a spot at her 11/20 or 12/4 dates.
Alternative Christmas: 11/20
It's time again for Foothills' Alternative Christmas! Come on Sunday, November 20 to King Hall after both services to get your Christmas shopping done and make your gift giving count. Alternative Christmas allows you to purchase a gift, which makes a real difference to individuals and communities in need, by contributing to one of many mission areas as an alternative gift for those 'hard-to-buy-for' friends and family members. Make an Advent Wreath
Advent is the season when we prepare ourselves to receive God's gift of Jesus. It is a time of "getting ready" for the celebration of Christmas. Family ministries invites you to make an Advent wreath to take home with Advent devotions to read aloud as you light the candles. Join us on the King Hall patio following both worship services on Sunday November 27.
Make the Holidays Warm and Bright at El Nido
During the holidays, Foothills and El Nido do all they can to make the temporary transitional homes of these survivor families as comfortable as possible. Each church sponsoring an apartment provides their residents with 3 gifts per person (not to exceed $26 per gift). These gifts may be the only gifts many of these residents receive. In addition, the Foothills youth group spends a day at the apartment complex, giving every single resident a gift and every single apartment a christmas tree! Your help is needed
UMW Dinner 11/15
The next UMW dinner is Tuesday 11/15 at 6 pm in King Hall. It will be a musical delight with the harmonious California Note Catchers singing group. Dinner is provided by our own Karen Rausis at a cost of only $10. Sign up via email and let us know if you need childcare. Te end of daylight saving time means it will get dark earlier, so if you need transportation let the UMW know and they will try arrange it.
The UMW is also still collecting Albertson's cookware stamps through the month of December to get new items for the Foothills kitchens. If you shop there and aren't collecting for yourself, please put them in an envelope labeled UMW and bring them to the church before Christmas.
Family eXperience
The next FX is on Sunday, 11/13 at 11:45 am after second service and taking place in King Hall. Come on down for a provided lunch along with family fun games. Explore this month's KidsConnect theme of honor at this fun gathering.
Stewardship
Our leadership has a continuing challenge: to invite you not only to a committed relationship to Jesus Christ, but to grow each year toward becoming more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ with an ever-deepening connection with God. Stewardship emphasis is the time to invite you to take another step in your spiritual growth. This next month promises to be an exciting time of anticipation as we look ahead to what is possible both in our own lives and in our congregational choices for the future. Foothills is poised to move into a powerful year in 2017. Read more and make your pledge
