Get Involved and Make a Difference 
Each week we will focus on some of the many ministries and missions that will be on display at 'Launch into Ministry Sunday.' Discover how you can make an impact in the lives of others through our church ministries or community outreach. Bring a friend with you to church on Sunday, Sept. 13 and take your faith to new heights -- as we launch into ministry together!

United Methodist Men Speak with and learn from other men in fellowship through great dinners, mission and small group opportunities 

Kairos Prison Ministry
The mission of Kairos is to bring Christ's love to all incarcerated individuals. Our congregation helps them through the baking of cookies for their retreats.

Tender Love & Care  
A group of compassionate people who make visits to the home bound members of our congregation.

Missions N Motion
Foothills leads many missions. This group makes sure that all of these mission areas have the support they need to make the greatest impact.

Good Neighbor Center
A food bank and enormous source of giving for those who are most in need.

Meals on Wheels  
Foothills is proud to have members responsible for several routes of hand delivered food to home bound people in our community.

Spiritual Gift Class

What's Happening at Foothills
Launch Into Ministry Sunday  
Foothills' Launch into Ministry Sunday is our Fall programming kick off. All of the many ministry areas of Foothills will be in one large ministry fair in the newly renovated King Hall on Sunday Sept. 13 after worship services. Come see what you can get involved in to grow in faith and community. Take your faith to new heights!
UMW cross
The UMW Are Back, September 15  
The first UMW dinner after the summer break will be in King Hall on 9/15 at 6 pm. The group will welcome a speaker from the Good Neighborhood house in Calexico. The food is great, the message is good and the fellowship is superb. Be a part of United Methodist Women this year. Read More
Foothills Folks Hawaiian Luau  
The Foothills Folks will welcome Lee Tipps and the Kauai Rainbows to their September luncheon for some islander classics on ukuleles and more. Lee is a 93 year old performer who goes to the islands each year to play his music. Don't miss this great opportunity for fellowship and entertainment. Read More
Disciple (Fast Track) Bible Study 
A 24 week study that will go through the entire Bible, aiming at transformation, not just information, is coming to Foothills. Evening and morning class options will be available and led by Larry Ledford on Wednesdays at 10 am (beginning 9/16) and Sundays at 5 pm (beginning 9/20). Read More
Grief Class thumb
10 Week Grief Classes Coming in September 
Two grief class opportunities will be available starting in September, on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm and Fridays 10 to 11:30 am. The classes will meet weekly over a 10 week period and are designed for those in grief from recent or older events. Reservations are required and must be made by September 1. Read More
Volunteer Needed to Make Chrismons     
Looking for arts and crafts folks to help with a special project. Anyone with needlepoint, crocheting, plastic canvas or ornament making experience to help make special Chrismon ornaments for use in the next Advent class. If you would be interested in helping with this project please contact Al Paton at 619-322-2950
The New Family Connection Newsletter  
Family Connection is a way to build upon the connection between family and church designed for families with children through 8th grade. This new newsletter is a way to create strategies for families and the church to work together and raise the potential for influencing a child. Read the August Newsletter

An Opportunity for Seniors    
Author Mary Poplin will speak on her book: "Finding Calcutta: What Mother Teresa Taught Me About Meaningful Work and Service." The presentation will take place in the Bailey Center at Mount Miguel Covenant Village on September 17 at 2:30 pm.
Acolyte Trainings through September    
All children in grades 4 and 5 who are interested in becoming an acolyte, please contact Carol Paton through the church office. Acolytes in training will sit in church with current, experienced acolytes during the summer to see how this ministry, which brings the light of Christ to our worship, is conducted. Read More
