Family Camp & a Pancake Fundraiser 
The 2017 Family Camp weekend has been announced for Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29! Sign your family up now for a fun weekend in the sun and the mountains of Julian at Camp Cedar Glen. Take part in family games, a climbing wall, archery, swimming, variety shows, campfires and more. All of the fun will be in the theme 'come together.' The cost is $100 per person with scholarships available. Contact Carla Slater for more information and to sign up. Help support family camp and create scholarships, by attending the family camp pancake fundraiser at Applebee's Rancho San Diego, 3/4 from 7-10 am. Tickets are only $10 per person and you can buy them now at the Foothills website
Lent Wednesday Series: Origins of Faith 
Wednesday nights during Lent, be in community for a series on the origins of a different faith each week, led by Ann Marie Bryan. Soup and salad dinners are available with a reservation at 6 pm, with the lecture series beginning at 6:45 pm each night. Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Islam will be covered. Read More 
Prayer Quilt Ministry Beginner's Workshop 
At the beginning of each year, the PQM hosts a Prayer Quilt Beginners Workshop. This year's workshop will be held on 2/25 from 9 am - noon in King Hall. Can you sew a straight line? Do you like to sew? Then you can quilt! Come join the group for snacks, prizes, and fun! For more information, contact Kathy Glass
An Act of Love Screening with Rev. Frank Schaefer 
The Reconciling Fellowship cordially invites you to a screening of the film An Act of Love... A compelling and award-winning documentary about the trial that rocked the United Methodist Church and the minister who risked it all for his gay son. The pastor behind the drama, Rev. Frank Schaefer, will be in attendance for this intimate evening, that will include a Q&A and a performance by our FUMY band.
The event is Friday, 2/24, beginning at 7 pm in the Sanctuary.
Maximizing Brain Health Workshop  
Maximizing Brain Health is a free 1-time workshop, taking place on Tuesday, March 7, at 10:00 am in King Hall run by Alzheimer's San Diego. Aging well means taking care of your brain, as well as the rest of your body. Learn the risk factors for dementia, and how to reduce your risk of cognitive decline through some simple lifestyle changes. Read more 
Office Closed Monday 2/20 
The Foothills offices will be closed on Monday, 2/20 in observance of President's Day.   
Scout Sunday 
Foothills is proud to sponsor Cub, Girl and Boy Scout troops 362. They are all very active and do incredible work in our community and towards raising youth into people of of character. On Sunday 2/26, we celebrate all of them and welcome them to our worship. They will be greeting you as you come into the sanctuary. 
Support Kairos Missionaries in their Next Retreat 
A Kairos retreat is coming on March 23-26 and cookies are needed March 12 & 19. Please visit the Kairos page for all the details on how you can support this very important ministry. The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, as well as to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen. Cookies may be the a draw to the program, but participants find much more. Read More 
UMW Dinner 2/21  
The United Methodist Women are back with a great dinner planned for Tuesday, 2/21 at 6 pm in King Hall. They welcome guest speaker Sharon McCart, who chairs the UMC's Disabilities Committee! She will be speaking to the group on "Making Paths Smooth, Removing Barriers," about ideas on how we might make Foothills more welcoming to children and adults with physical and/or mental challenges. This is also the annual Valentine dinner where men are invited to attend.Read More 
Ash Wednesday 
Easter is 4/16 and that means the 40 day season of Lent, beginning with Ash Wednesday is 3/1. There are two opportunities to be in solemn community, to begin the journey and to receive the Imposition of Ashes. First at an 8:30 am breakfast in King Hall and then at 7 pm with the service of ashes. Read More
