VBS 2017 
The theme for this year's Vacation Bible School is 'Maker Fun Factory -- Created By God; Built For A Purpose!' The camp runs from Monday July 17 through Friday July 21, 9 am-12 pm. The program is for kids aged from turning 4 through finishing 5th grade (new age range this year!). It's only $40 and there is a special deal: bring a friend who has never been to Foothills' VBS before and you and the friend get to register for $20 each! Sundae Funday (by FX!) 
Family eXperience "FX" is moving outdoors for May! On Sunday, 5/7 following the 10:30 service, the family ministry team invites you to Sundae Funday on the sanctuary lawn. A light lunch and ice cream sundaes will be served; plus fun games for the kids to play while adults mingle. Let us know how many will attend by contacting Lisa Stewart. Volunteers are needed to help with set up and clean up. Let us know if you can help!
FUMY (youth) Sunday! 
This year's youth Sunday falls on May 21. Be sure to be in worship on this wonderfully motivating and inventive Sunday morning. Hear the message from this year's graduating seniors, music from the youth praise band and a take on Foothills worship through the vision of the entire youth group. The youth will take over both hours of worship at 8:30 and 10:30 am.  
El Nido and the Interfaith Shelter Need 1 Minute   
The Interfaith Shelter Network lost their HUD funding due to changes at the department and need to make up for that lost financing by getting smaller grants. Only one minute of your time is needed to vote for them to receive a grant from Harrah's. The Seeker's Class 
Monthly, on the third Wednesday, seekers gather in the disciple room at 6:30 pm. Have you ever thought, I'd like to know what my pastor thinks concerning __________? The Seeker's Class is your opportunity to raise the topic. Come prepared with a question or topic and the group will spend an engaging hour together. Each class is a stand-alone offering, so you can attend anytime and not be behind. The next class is Wednesday, 5/17. 
May Foothills Folks 
 Mark your calendar and bring your friends to the always delightful senior luncheon, Foothills Folks, on 5/10 at 11:45 am in the Youth Center. It's only $3 for a program and meal. The luncheon takes place every month on the second Wednesday. 
Brewing Faith 
Brewing Faith is Back in May on 5/3 at 6:30 pm at the Hooley's in Grossmont Center. Have a discussion of faith in a casual atmosphere with Pastor Eric and many others from Foothills and the community. 
John: The Gospel of Love and Life  
A new six-session class on the Gospel of John begins Monday 4/24 to 6/5 at 6:15 p.m in the Youth Lounge. Written by popular author and pastor Adam Hamilton, the class will be led by Ellen Bertelsen and Pastor Jeanette. Sign up to attend and experience a season of spiritual growth and renewal. Read More 
Discover Foothills 
The Discover Foothills luncheon is an excellent step towards understanding what Foothills stands for as a church and what it means to join in membership. Get a better idea of the church's role in the community and what happens when you become a part of this greater community. The next Discover Foothills is 5/7, after church at 11:45 am in the conference room. Read More 
Meals on Wheels Needs Your Help   
The entire El Cajon route for Meals on Wheels is run by Foothills volunteers and more delivery drivers are desperately needed to keep this vital ministry running. For many people on the route, the driver is the only person they get to see all day. Please consider donating 1.5 hours of your time each week for this incredible program. Read More 
Youth Summer Camps at Cedar Glen  
The summer camps at Cedar Glen are at the very least a wonderfully fun experience, but we often hear that they are transformative for the youth that attend. Camps are available for youth aged lower elementary up through senior high to get away for a week to a camp in Julian that has a wide array of activities and programs put together by the United Methodist church to bring everyone closer together and closer in Christ. A Rummage Sale Approaches 
Just in time for Spring cleaning, a rummage sale will be here the week of April 24-29. Collection is on the first three days in King Hall from 9 am - 5 pm, with the sale on the final three days. The two rummage sales that Foothills runs each year are the most reliable and best source of funding for the missions of our church. Please do what you can to contribute to this great opportunity to grow our mission in the community. Read More 
The Annual Mad Hatter's Tea 
The annual Mad Hatter's Tea and luncheon is coming on 4/29, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, hosted at Monte Vista Village. Join in the tea party of the year and support Meals on Wheels San Diego's East County office. Tickets are only $30 to enjoy delicious tea, tasty treats, opportunity drawings and much cheer. RSVPs are due by April 14 and you can contact Marilyn Honea (619-660-2136) to coordinate your attendance. Be sure and wear your most fanciful hat, as there will be a hat parade with prizes!
Family Camp 
The 2017 Family Camp weekend has been announced for Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29! Sign your family up now for a fun weekend in the sun and the mountains of Julian at Camp Cedar Glen. Take part in family games, a climbing wall, archery, swimming, variety shows, campfires and more. All of the fun will be in the theme 'come together.' The cost is $100 per person with scholarships available. Contact Carla Slater for more information and to sign up
