Meet Our Teachers and Staff

About Me

Ruth feels blessed to be the director of Foothills Preschool. She has been director for 27 years. Prior to directing, Ruth taught preschool at three church related schools and one military school. Ruth also taught child development classes including administration and student teaching for 20 years at Cuyamaca college. Her Training was in elementary education and early childhood development.

She is proud of her grown and married son who lives in Florida with his wife. Her grown daughter lives in Santee with her husband and Ruth's two granddaughters.

Foothills has been her church home as well as her work home. Even her Siamese cat Lacey was born here!

In her spare time, Ruth enjoys spending time with her granddaughters and her family. She loves to read, cook and spend time at the beach. She is also in a small group at the church called 'People of Purpose.'

About Me

Kay has been at Foothills preschool for 9 years. She is currently working as the assistant director and teaching two-year-olds and 4-year-olds. Kay has earned a Child Development Certificate for preschool children and continues to attend workshops and classes to further her knowledge.

Kay has a blended family of five grown adult children and five grandchildren. She, and her husband Gene, enjoy traveling, walks on the beach, camping, bike riding and trips to see the grand children as often as possible!

About Me

Victoria (aka Miss Vicci) is celebrating her 10th year here at Foothills preschool where she has been a teacher of three-year-olds. Prior to Foothills, she worked for the Cajon Valley School District where she gained valuable experience and knowledge for 15 years in the state funded preschool program. She attended Cuyamaca college and SDSU where she studied early childhood development and elementary school education. Her passion for children and art led her to Foothills where she has been happy teaching ever since.

Victoria, a San Diego native, has three grown boys, a beautiful granddaughter and a little Maltese dog, Basil. Her hobbies are creating new ideas, drawing, painting, gardening and reading.

About Me

Tracy has worked at Foothills Preschool as an assistant teacher for three years and is now also teaching a two year old class. She has two children; Briley who is 6 years old as well as an alumni of Foothills and Dillon who is one year old.

Tracy enjoys the beach and traveling.

About Me

Elizabeth is teacher of the 5-day pre-k and 3-4 year old afternoon class. She has been working at Foothills preschool for nine years. Her daughter also went to Foothills and is now in the second grade. She attributes her daughters success in school to the strong foundation she obtained as Foothills.

Elizabeth considers teaching to not just be a profession, but a vocation.

About Me

Colombina has had the pleasure of working with preschool aged children since 1991. She has an associates degree in Science, Child development and preschool education. She has been married for 31 years and has two wonderful sons; Jaime, who is a physician and Carlos, who just graduated from college.

In her spare time, she loves to read, travel and learn about other cultures.

About Me

Batol graduated from Grossmont College with a master teachers permit. She has been working with children for 18 years. She teaches at Foothills and she also works part time for the El Cajon Valley Union School District. Her goals are to provide a warm and loving environment for children and to help develop a sense of security and trust in their little worlds.

Batol is married and has four sons and one daughter. She also has three grandchildren.

About Me
Betsy joined the Foothills preschool staff in 2009. She enjoys teaching hte four-year-old class and working in the Extended Day Program. She is certified to teach preschool and is continuing her education in Child Development, which is a passion of hers. Betsy, her husband, and two children are active foothills community members. They enjoy swimming, traveling, and learning together.

About Me

Stephanie has worked with Foothills for three years and has worked with children for the past 15 years. She enjoys working with young children and has two girls of her own, both of whom attended preschool here.

Beyond keeping busy with all of her daughter's activities, Stephanie enjoys sewing, reading, walking, cooking and being with family.

About Me

Jennifer joined Foothills preschool in January of 2006. She worked as a teacher's assistant for 18 years for the Cajon Calley School District before coming to our preschool. She has been married for 41 years and has two grown children as well as two beautiful grandchildren.

She enjoys teaching Kidz Klub and playing handbells at her church. She love working in the preschool class and getting all the kids ready for Kindergarten.

About Me

Ceci has been working for six years as an assistant teacher and an extended day teacher. She is married and has a college aged son.

Ceci enjoys walking and cooking in her spare time.

About Me
Erin joined our staff in 2010 as an assistant teacher. She is currently a college student studying child development. She is also part of a large family with six siblings, some of whom attend Foothills Preschool. Erin is our youngest staff member and she enjoys learning in a hands on environment with the children. Her playfulness and love for the kids brings lots of fun and laughter to our school.

About Me

Teresa worked as an assistant teacher and then a teacher at Foothills preschool for over 10 years. She is now a substitute teacher for Foothills. She is married and has two sons; Victor and Danny.

Teresa enjoys traveling and getting together with good friends.
