Dennis comes to Foothills from Dalian, China where he has been a “visiting scholar” at Dalian Arts College, for the past three years. He is also Professor Emeritus at Ohlone College, where he taught for 30 years as the Director of Choral/Vocal Activities. While participating in Academia Dennis has continually been involved with church music, as director of music for: Methodist; Presbyterian; Roman Catholic; and Baptist congregations. In addition he has assisted by conducting choirs in celebrating High Holy Days, and as a professional soloist at “The President’s Church” in Washington, D.C. He has also served as church music consultant to many congregations assisting in the design of music programs and staffing. Dennis has degrees from: Mount Union College (Alliance, Ohio); University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ.); and ABD (all but dissertation) from the University of Southern California. Additional study includes: Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, WA.); and Summer Vocal Institute (Graz, Austria).
Dennis is married to Mei Keller and has two adult daughters (and one grandson!). His other loves are: international travel; collecting wine (mostly Bordeaux); and sports!
