United Methodist Women The United Methodist Women organization has deep roots and a powerful mission focus in The United Methodist Church. The organization has more than one million members worldwide. It is organized for the purpose of supporting mission projects locally and globally, providing Christian education for its members, and developing leadership skills for women. At Foothills, members of UMW meet in small groups called circles for fellowship and study, and as a larger group for monthly meetings and programs. There are two ways you can participate in United Methodist Women. One way is through the monthly Sarah/Ruth circle small group, that meets every first Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and the other is through our monthly UMW meetings and dinners, which are typically on the third Tuesday of the month. The purpose of UMW is to know God, develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to participate in local and global ministries of the church.
