Protestant Reformation
Two class options led by Larry Ledford:
Sundays at 4 pm (beginning June 3) in the Disciple Room
Tuesdays at 10 am (beginning June 5) in the Disciple Room
This 6-week study will look at the schism in Western Christianity initiated by Martin Luther and continued by John Calvin, Huldrych Zwingli and others in 16th century Europe. The Protestant Reformation came to incorporate significant doctrinal changes. The core motivation behind these changes was theological, though many factors played a part, including the rise of nationalism, humanism, new learning, literacy and the improvements in production of texts.
