Foothills Supports the Survivors of El Nido
El Nido is a transitional living situation for mothers and their children who have fled domestic violence situations. These survivors found themselves homeless through the pursuit of safety and the El Nido program provides them the shelter and stability they need to regain their self-sufficiency. The amazing leadership of the shelter provides counseling, courses and facilities that prepare their residents for life on their own. Through a 12 month program, they are led back to life in a caring and compassionate world.
Foothills sponsors one of the apartments in this complex by providing furnishings, comforts and decoration. At the end of a families time in the program, they then get to take these donations on to furnish their new home. We also provide our currently sponsored family and the last one to leave our unit with Christmas gifts each year. Our youth group also decorates the entire complex and sings carols with the families every year. We are very proud to be a part of this initiative.
If you can provide any of the following items to help furnish the apartment, please contact Steven Topham.
