Community and Burgers
By: Karen Radcliffe Smith
I have recently been asked to do some event planning on behalf of Foothills United Methodist Church and am delighted to share information about an upcoming opportunity for members and friends to "Get Connected" in the life of the church.
Each fall, members return home from vacations, Sunday school classes begin anew, and the anticipation of celebrating the birth of our Lord is already in the air. It seems an ideal time for the Foothills Community to come together as one family and share in good food, fellowship and fun! It also seems an ideal time to invite your friends and the surrounding community to learn more about our beloved church.
On Sunday, September 14, Foothills will host its first ever “Fall Festival & Burger Bash.” The day begins with the entire church community gathering for one worship service at 9:30a.m. Following the service, all will share in a delicious lunch in the lower parking lot. Childcare will be available upon request and a bounce house and other children’s activities will be provided on the grass and playground. There will also be an opportunity to peruse creative and informative display booths showcasing the various groups and program ministries of the church in the newly-renovated “King Hall Connection Center.”
Place settings, burgers (regular and veggie), hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided. Members are asked to bring a salad, side dish, or dessert to share. Look for the Fall Festival & Burger Bash table on the patio beginning Sunday, August 24 or call the church office beginning Monday, August 25 to let us know you’re coming and what you will be bringing. Mark your calendars now for this exciting event in the life of Foothills UMC!
