Charge Conference Report

By: Diane Douthitt
Sunday night, November 6, was the all church conference; It's an important night in the life of Foothills UMC. This is an evening where many topics of interest are discussed and important votes are taken. It is an opportunity for the entire congregation to see how the “business” side of the church operates, along with the mission work of the church.
Reports were given by the Chairpersons of the Trustees, Finance, and Staff Parish Relations committees. Important votes were cast on pastor salaries, the sale of the Avocado property, the adoption of by-laws for the Faith Academy, and review of the current membership rolls.
Special recognition was given to retiring Trustees, Kathy Morrison and Bob Harless, for their tireless service and the loving care they give to the entire campus. Steve Hable was approved as Certified Lay Minister, and Sylina Kidd was approved as a candidate for ministry.
It was an evening filled with fellowship and, more importantly, an opportunity for everyone to fully participate in the life of this vital ministry known as Foothills United Methodist Church. I encourage everyone to join us at the next opportunity.
