GSMC Director's Update 11/2018

By: Danean LeNoir

There continues to be many exciting activities happening at the Good Shepherd Ministry Center.
This month we focus on Sonshine Haven. Sonshine Haven is a ministry that offers an after-school Bible club to children in public elementary and middle schools. The club is 1 to 1.5 hours and it includes worship, a Bible lesson, a gospel invitation, memory verse, games, one on one prayer time and snacks. Additionally the children that participate in club are invited to Life Skills day camp during spring break and summer vacations. Sonshine Haven also provides Cinderella/fella Day, Thanksgiving dinner baskets and Christmas Adopt-a-Family to their club families. This ministry not only brings the word of God to many children within East County schools, they provide much needed support to their families. Sonshine Haven is celebrating its 27th year and has been a tenant at the Ministry center since 2009 As mentioned last week, Foothills volunteers began an after-school Bible club on Wednesdays through the Sonshine Haven program. The GSMC Sonshine club is being led by Jennifer Smith Nikodym at the Good Shepherd Ministry Center available for 3rd – 5th graders at the EJE Charter school.
