People Are Important to God
By: Rev. Jeanette Ham
Invite a friend into community.
How did you first come to Foothills? Perhaps you drove past our church sign many times and finally decided to attend, or saw our Christmas Eve Ad, or maybe a friend invited you to Sunday worship.
Inviting a friend or family member may seem hard to do, but many of us probably already know friends or coworkers that may be seeking a spiritual home and a caring community in which to belong. In the fall people and families begin to organize themselves after the summer and get ready for the school year. This presents a time that many begin to be open to seeking a church home.
How do you begin to invite friends to experience Foothills?
- First of all, think of 1- 3 friends you might like to invite and begin to pray for them; that they may be open to God’s leading and that you may be an instrument in their journey.
- Let them know about our Launch Into Ministry Sunday on September 13, and how that offers a great opportunity to meet people and get to know more about Foothills.
- Remember that taking time to build relationships is what really matters. So don’t get discouraged if they don’t take you up on your first invite, it’s about care and friendship, and it sometimes takes time.
Take this opportunity to let your friends and families know that they are important to you, and that there is a caring community here at Foothills that seeks to welcome them!
Launch into Ministry
Coming September 13
Our annual time to launch our fall season at Foothills is just around the corner. This is a great opportunity to invite friends or family to share in our church community. There will be refreshments, gourmet hot dogs and information about our upcoming fall classes, small groups and youth group in the King Hall Connection Center after each service. Search for a new class, small group or serving experience at Foothills for each member of your family!
