Dear Foothills Family,
It is hard to believe it has been over two months since that last week of farewell and celebration. 17.5 years went all too fast. As the fall schedule begins we want to pause and say thank you for such a wonderful farewell.
The Saturday celebration and remembrance of our years together was so meaningful to us. The words shared by friends and leaders touched us deeply and the images and songs brought laughter and tears. We were particularly moved by the surprise of Jason, April and our grandson Dylan being flown out for the weekend. We came to Foothills as a family of four and it meant more than you can know to say goodbye together, now as a family of six.
Your generous gift has allowed us to check off a couple of desired items, such as John’s “dream” BBQ. But the main use is going to enable us to stay more connected as a family through cross country visits. We are already set to fly to Raleigh in November and have tucked the rest away for future reunions.
It is hard to let go, but we are confident you are in good hands with Eric’s leadership, along with Christian, Jeanette and the gifted staff and lay leadership of Foothills. God is not finished with any of us yet. We give thanks for the lives that will be transformed as they become members of the Foothills family just us we were.
May God continue to bless your life and work!
John and Sue Farley
