The Results From the UMW Rummage Sale

By: Emma King

The United Methodist Women would like to say a big “THANK YOU” to all of you who assisted in making the Rummage Sale such a success. We amassed $10,635.34 that will go toward various missions, such as; Good Neighbor Center, Calexico Neighborhood House, Store Front, UMCOR, Youth Mission Trips, Wesley Foundation, Interfaith Shelter and La Roca, to name a few. We could not have had such a successful sale if not for all of you who volunteered. Give yourselves a big pat on your back.

The United Methodist Women are women whose purpose it is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Membership is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and participate in the global missions of the church through United Methodist Women. We meet once a month on the third Tuesday of every month, except where noted in the bulletin. The meetings are either a morning meeting with a continental breakfast, or an evening meeting with a catered dinner. The UMW also have Circle Meetings: the Priscilla Circle, which meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 9:30 am at Diane Vogan’s home and makes crafts which are sold at various functions, like Alternative Christmas; and the Sarah/Ruth Circle which studies various missions and books.

Due to our successful Rummage Sale, we will not have our monthly meeting this month, but will have a Holiday Brunch on Saturday, November 16th. More about this later.
