All of us look forward to summer vacation. When I was in elementary and middle school, I remember counting down the days until school was out even when I didn’t know what the summer vacation plans were. While that was a very long time ago, the excitement of summer vacations has not changed. Some of you have taken trips overseas, others traveled to various parts of the US and many more have taken the family to some of the most scenic areas of California. We noticed you have been away from your church family.
Activity has not exactly stopped at Foothills over the summer. We had a successful Vacation Bible School, youth enjoyed summer camps and we passed the half-way point to funding the beam replacement. The single service Sundays have been a huge success. We’ve all made new friends by meeting people from the “other service.” It’s been very entertaining to see folks sharing their favorite pew spots with those from the different service also sharing their favorite pew spot. Our new choir director, Dennis Keller and his wife Jin Mei have arrived. When you have the opportunity to meet them, you will be very happy that they are now part of our church family.
We know you have been out enjoying a well-deserved vacation and we have missed seeing you around our campus. As you begin to return to your regular schedule, we look forward to seeing you back in church on Sunday and in the various church activities you enjoy. Look for the announcements of coming events and be sure to take a walk through the ministry fair on Sunday the 28th after worship. If you have not had the opportunity to contribute to the beam team fund, please help us reach our goal so we can begin the replacement program. Welcome home….we missed you!
