San Diego UMC Young Adults

Thanks to District Superintendent Rev John Farley, Rev Eric Smith , Rev John Lurvery and lay members, there was a meeting of the Young Adult leaders from the south district. Over 10 churches were represented along with interseted lay-members. As it turned out, most of the young adult leaders were youth leaders and many wore other hats such as family ministries.
From the meeting a district e-mail communication list has been developed. The e-mail list is comprised of people at the meeting and being expanded to include all young adult workers in the south district. A web site for the south district young adults is in the making and will hopefully be completed by the end of june. A District Coordinator has been established to help the young adult workers and Spencer Topham has stepped forward into that position.
Some other ideas that came out of the meeting were a leaders and young adult retreat at camp cedar glen, lesson materials, smaller groups going to larger group events, district events and just getting together for support.
