Discover All There is at Foothills
Discover Foothills is an opportunity for those that are new to the community to find out what the church stands for and what it does for the community. Hear directly from Pastors Eric and Jeanette over a free lunch all the potential that can be created when we join together in a positive and affirming mission. Read More
A Call For Lenten Devotionals
Please consider submitting a Lenten Devotional! These are daily prayers, anecdotes, and bible verses that bring us closer to God during the time leading up to Easter. A typical devotion layout starts with a Bible verse then a story or anecdote and ends with a prayer. Send yours by email to Shandra Zawacki or leave your devotion in the church office before February 15.
Volunteer Your Time with the Interfaith Shelter
The Interfaith Shelter is a rotating shelter for homeless people who are actively working towards bettering their lives and finding a job. Foothills will host the shelter at a nearby church from 2/11 - 2/25. Many volunteers are needed to make this a success. Email our missions coordinator, Carolyn Wetzel, if you are able to be an overnight host, provide meals, transportation, laundry services or hygiene packets.
50th Anniversary Luncheon
Each year, Foothills throws a grand celebratory luncheon for all the couples in the congregation that have been married for 50 years or more. If you're a member and have reached this amazing milestone, you should be receiving an invitation to the February 4 event. If you want to make sure that you are on the list, or if you do not receive an invitation, please contact the church office at 619-670-4009. The luncheon will be held in King Hall at 11 am.
UMW Sunday is January 29
Wear red on January 29 to support the wonderful and strong women who help run the largest mission organization of the United Methodist Church. Foothills' UMW is a fantastic group and they are going to provide a powerful morning of worship during both services on the 29th with guest pastor Nicole Reilley.
Christianity & World Religions
Take part in this new class based upon Adam Hamilton's book Christianity and World Religions. Learn from Hamilton as he examines Christianity and four major world religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism. He wrestles with tough questions: Why are there so many different religions? How should Christians view other religions? How is God at work in other religions? What is the fate of those who earnestly pursue God through other religions? Foothills is offering two class options on Sundays at 4 pm and Tuesdays at 10 am. Read More and Sign up Online
Find Financial Peace
This life-changing class is taught by Dave Ramsey and the FPU teaching team on video and coordinated by John Kolb and Brandon Jagow. It will help you achieve your financial goals by showing you how to eliminate debt, save for the future, and give like never before. You will be challenged and motivated to make a plan for your money and change your family's financial legacy. It is a 9 week course, taking place on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm beginning 1/17. Read More
