Foothills Stewardship for 10.31.16

Foothills Stewardship for 10.31.16
Open & Affirming: Stewardship of our church, selves and community with open hearts, minds and doors.
New Tech!
Foothills extends a huge thank you to the estate of Anne Von Der Mehden, which made a long-overdue upgrade to the sanctuary's media possible. The analog signal is now high-definition; the noisy, blurry projectors were replaced and much much more was improved upon. We hope you all enoy the crisp imagery!
A UMW Thank You and Request
Our UMW wishes to extend a hearty THANK YOU to all of you who participated in making our rummage sale a great success. Whether you hauled furniture, prepared food for the helpers, donated items, worked on the sales floor or helped out in other ways, your effort was greatly appreciated. We netted $8450 from this endeavor, but our outreach goes further than just providing good, used items inexpensively. A few of our congregation pulled selected items from the sale to provide for individual ministries.
On another note, we are collecting the stamps from Albertson's and Von's cookware promotion for items for the kitchens. If you shop those stores, and don't usually take the stamps, please take them and donate them to our UMW. Just put them in an envelope and leave them in the UMW box in the office. You could also give them to Alice Broadhurst, Marion Van Diggelen or Kathy Myers.
Our leadership has a continuing challenge: to invite you not only to a committed relationship to Jesus Christ, but to grow each year toward becoming more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ with an ever-deepening connection with God. Stewardship emphasis is the time to invite you to take another step in your spiritual growth. This next month promises to be an exciting time of anticipation as we look ahead to what is possible both in our own lives and in our congregational choices for the future. Foothills is poised to move into a powerful year in 2017. Read more and make your pledge
Alternative Christmas: 11/20
It's time again for Foothills' Alternative Christmas! Come on Sunday, November 20 to King Hall after both services to get your Christmas shopping done and make your gift giving count. Alternative Christmas allows you to purchase a gift, which makes a real difference to individuals and communities in need, by contributing to one of many mission areas as an alternative gift for those 'hard-to-buy-for' friends and family members. Annual Charge Conference on Sunday
Each year, Foothills' membership gathers to vote on the most important matters facing the church, on salaries and the ongoing vision of the church. All members are encouraged to attend annual conference when it meets this Sunday, 11/6 at 6:30 pm in King Hall.
Daylight Savings Ends on Sunday 11/6
If your clock doesn't do it for, then be sure and take an hour off before you go to bed this Saturday, so that you wake up on time for church. Better to have that extra hour of rest than to show up to an empty sanctuary.
The Craft Faire
The Faith Academy's annual holiday craft faire is here! Tour King Hall for a full day of crafts from 9 am - 7 pm on Tuesday, 11/8. A special preview for Foothills members and Faith Academy families is held on Monday, 11/7 from 5 pm - 7 pm. Get a head start on your Christmas gift buying with crafts, home-baked goods and other inventive and awesome handmade goods. All proceeds from sales go to supporting the craft faire artists and the Faith Academy preschool.
