Keep Your Eye on the Donut and not the Hole
Do you remember this old saying from Dunkin Donuts? I was never sure what it really meant until I thought about it one morning while picking up the donuts for the church patio on Sunday Mornings. The donuts are a nice treat along with the great people you meet at the donut table. Many an interesting conservation has developed around that table. But more than that has come from that donut table. Meals for children, scholarships for camps, presents, clothing and trees for abused children and mothers, dental work for homeless mothers and children at La Roca, books, lunches, shoes, youth missions, mission trips and so much more. The extra donation you make when getting your donut made this all possible. So remember: keep your eye on the donut and not the hole.

FUMY Canned Food Drive
Our Foothills United Methodist Youth (FUMY) are holding their annual holiday canned food drive. Beginning now and running through the month of December, bring as much canned food as you can to church Sunday mornings and to the church office throughout the week so we can fill the pantries of the Good Neighbor Center. Let's show our love and support of families who are finding it difficult to make it through a season in which we should all be full of the abundant love of God. Contact Sharon Russo to help
Handel's Messiah: Presentation & a Class
On 12/11, make sure you are in worship at the single 10 am hour of praise for a presentation of a portion of Handel's Messiah by our choir. To prepare you, choir director Dennis Keller is hosting a one-time class: Handel's Messiah, For Dummies, in King Hall, Tue. 11/29 at 7 pm. Come learn the history of this fantastic musical piece.

Make an Advent Wreath
Advent is the season when we prepare ourselves to receive God's gift of Jesus. It is a time of "getting ready" for the celebration of Christmas. Family ministries invites you to make an Advent wreath to take home with Advent devotions to read aloud as you light the candles. Join us on the King Hall patio following both worship services on Sunday November 27.
The Holidays Will be Warm and Bright at El Nido
During the holidays, Foothills and El Nido do all they can to make the temporary transitional homes of these survivor families as comfortable as possible. Each church sponsoring an apartment provides their residents with 3 gifts per person. These gifts may be the only gifts many of these residents receive. After only two weeks, Foothills members have signed up to provide all 12 of the gifts needed for our unit! Monetary help is still appreciated to buy trees, decorations and small gifts for every resident of the complex when we go to visit them with the youth group. Your help is needed
Our leadership has a continuing challenge: to invite you not only to a committed relationship to Jesus Christ, but to grow each year toward becoming more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ with an ever-deepening connection with God. Stewardship emphasis is the time to invite you to take another step in your spiritual growth. This next month promises to be an exciting time of anticipation as we look ahead to what is possible both in our own lives and in our congregational choices for the future. Foothills is poised to move into a powerful year in 2017. Read more and make your pledge
