Foothills' Big Christmas Choir Concert: The Messiah
On 12/11, make sure you are in worship at the single 10 am hour of praise for a presentation of a portion of Handel's Messiah by our choir, accompanied by a full orchestra. This is the annual Foothills Christmas choir concert, taking place at a different time than usual on a Sunday morning. Get in the full spirit of the season with this wonderful tradition of beautiful music.
Sponsor a Beam - Support the Church
$172,809 has currently been raised
The church beams are in great need of repair to keep our sanctuary structurally and aesthetically strong. It will take everyone's help to raise the $200,000 needed. Watch this video to learn all about our Beam Team Campaign. Click here to donate or read more. Sponsor a beam and join the Beam Team to help us reach our goal.
Christmas at Foothills
The holidays are a magical time at Foothills and we hope you find plenty of reasons to come be in the spirit of giving and celebration. Christmas Eve services will be held at 4 pm for families, 6:30 for traditional style worship, 8:30 for contemporary and, as always, the lovely and solemn 11 pm service. The tradition of Silent Night sung by candlelight will be held during the 6:30, 8:30 and 11 pm services. Start inviting your friends to worship and Pastor Eric's message, 'Living in Hope.' Read More
Adjourned Charge Conference
This is a brief meeting for adjourned items from the Charge Conference docket. Predominately, a vote will be held on the budget. The meeting will take place on 1/8 right after second service in the Foothills sanctuary. All Foothills members are encouraged to attend and take part in the vote.
200 Bicycles for Deserving Students
Each year, the Common Ground collaborative receives a donation from Bikes For Kids, of enough bikes for every 3rd grader at two schools to receive one. Common Ground just needs the volunteers to assemble all the bikes, so they can be put on the stage ready for the students to hop on and ride. Contact John Parsons for information on how to get involved.... Pizza provided!
Confirmation 2017
Confirmation Class is starting in January! There will be a mandatory meeting 12/18 at 10 am in Pastor Eric's office for 8th graders and their parents. Confirmation is a time for our youth to dig deeper in their faith while being taught what it truly means to be a United Methodist. If you have any questions please contact Sharon Russo.
Christmas Caroling
Be a blessing to our home-bound seniors as we go Christmas Caroling on Sunday, 12/18. Gather at 5:00 p.m. in the King Hall Connection Center to carpool. This is a great experience for people of all ages, so bring your kids, family and friends. Please bring water and dress warmly.
Common Ground Christmas
Common Ground is an interfaith organization sponsored by Foothills that provides year-round for local disadvanted students. Many of them will not receive gifts during Christmas, so Common Ground is doing what it can to get a gift into each local kid's hands. Sign up for a gift on the patio after services and return it by 12/18. If you would like to sign up for a gift or help, please contact Kathy Glass.
FUMY Canned Food Drive
Our Foothills United Methodist Youth (FUMY) are holding their annual holiday canned food drive. Beginning now and running through the month of December, bring as much canned food as you can to church Sunday mornings and to the church office throughout the week so we can fill the pantries of the Good Neighbor Center. Let's show our love and support of families who are finding it difficult to make it through a season in which we should all be full of the abundant love of God. Contact Sharon Russo to help
Succulent Sunday
EarthCare's annual succulent Sunday is coming up o 12/4 and will take place on the sanctuary patio after services. The group will be giving away cuttings of succulents and drought tolerant plants. They invite others in the congregation to share any cuttings they may have by bringing them that morning.
Single 10 am Services in December
On Sundays 12/11, 12/25 and 1/1, Foothills will be hosting a single hour of worship at 10:00 am. On 12/11, the choir will be performing Handel's Messiah. Be sure to put that on your calendar! On Christmas and New Year's day, there will be one hour of worship at 10 am to accomodate holiday gatherings with family and friends.
