Ash Wednesday 
Easter is 4/16 and that means the 40 day season of Lent, beginning with Ash Wednesday is 3/1. There are two opportunities to be in solemn community, to begin the journey and to receive the Imposition of Ashes. First at an 8:30 am breakfast in King Hall and then at 7 pm with the service of ashes. Read More 
Family Camp & a Pancake Fundraiser (Time Change)
The 2017 Family Camp weekend has been announced for Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29! Sign your family up now for a fun weekend in the sun and the mountains of Julian at Camp Cedar Glen. Take part in family games, a climbing wall, archery, swimming, variety shows, campfires and more. All of the fun will be in the theme 'come together.' The cost is $100 per person with scholarships available. Contact Carla Slater for more information and to sign up. Help support family camp and create scholarships, by attending the family camp pancake fundraiser at Applebee's Rancho San Diego, 3/4 from 8-10 am. Tickets are only $10 per person and you can buy them now at the Foothills website
Relax, Release, Renew! 
Heal yourself and heal your friends with easy to learn and simple techniques! They can help increase relaxation, reduce pain and anxiety, release trapped emotions, and improve your overall well-being. They are drawn from many types of proven energy healing techniques used to relieve pain as well as to soothe the body, mind, and spirit. Sign up and pay the $25 fee online, for a fun filled afternoon and learn to bring your body's energy into balance so it can heal itself, naturally! Sunday, 4/2 from 2:00-4:40 pm in King Hall. 
Therapeutic Bereavement Support Group 
On Thursdays, 6-7:30 pm, beginning 3/2 in Pastor Jeanette's office, a group led by Diane Louise will utilize psychotherapy, creative expression, and experiential modalities to understand the grieving process. It is designed to provide a safe place to express feelings, while receiving and giving hope to others who are also on their grief journey. Read More 
El Nido Beauty Night 
El Nido is a transitional apartment shelter for abused women and their families who found themselves homeless after fleeing from their abusers. On 3/28 at 6 pm, the mothers get the royal treatment with a beauty night put on by the shelter and the supporting churches. If you are, or know, a beautician, hair stylist or massage therapist and interested in donating your services that night, please contact Steven Topham
Lent Wednesday Series: Origins of Faith 
Wednesday nights during Lent, be in community for a series on the origins of a different faith each week, led by Ann Marie Bryan. Soup and salad dinners are available with a reservation at 6 pm, with the lecture series beginning at 6:45 pm each night. Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Islam will be covered. Read More 
Family eXperience in March   
Get your family part of the most vibrant and enjoyable fellowship opportunities that Foothills has to offer. If you have children aged 3-14, this program is designed to support the themes learned by your children during KidsConnect while bringing them closer to family, friends and the church. FX takes place every second Sunday of the month after second service, at 11:45 am in King Hall. Lunch and games provided. Read More 
Foothills Folks  
The Foothills monthly senior luncheon, Foothills Folks meets again on 3/8 at 11:45 am. Take part in this joyous fellowship where lunch, entertainment and lots of smiles are provided completely free in the youth center. 
Daylight Savings Time Sunday 3/12 
Daylight savings time begins on Sunday 3/12, so be sure and set your clocks forward an hour the night before and be on time to church in the morning. 
Maximizing Brain Health Workshop  
Maximizing Brain Health is a free 1-time workshop, taking place on Tuesday, March 7, at 10:00 am in King Hall run by Alzheimer's San Diego. Aging well means taking care of your brain, as well as the rest of your body. Learn the risk factors for dementia, and how to reduce your risk of cognitive decline through some simple lifestyle changes. Read more 
Support Kairos Missionaries in their Next Retreat 
A Kairos retreat is coming on March 23-26 and cookies are needed March 12 & 19. Please visit the Kairos page for all the details on how you can support this very important ministry. The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, as well as to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.
