Foothills Auction 2016!
"Holy
Guacamole, It's a Foothills' Fall Fiesta!" October 1st, 5 - 9 PM at the
beautiful home of Dale & Joy Pruitt. Cost is $25 per person for an
evening you won't soon forget! Mariachi Fiesta Mexicana - the most
renowned mariachi group in San Diego, will entertain you while you enjoy
a delicious meal from Casa de México. The menu includes Carne Asada,
Chicken Asado and Pork Adobada Tacos with Mexican rice and beans.
Quesadilla, chips, salsa, and (just maybe,) guacamole made by our own

Fall Classes Available at Foothills
Three
great new classes are being offered over the next two months for
Foothills members and friends to grow in faith and knowledge. Head to our website
to check out these new offerings and to see the existing programs
starting back up again this Fall that you may want to get involved
with.

A New Year of Foothills Folks Programming
It's
time to start a new season of Foothills Folks! Our first luncheon will
be Wednesday, September 14, at 11:45am in the Youth Center. Foothills'
own Tim Woods and his wonderful band will be the entertainment. The cost
is $3 and bring a side dish or dessert to share, Foothills will provide
the entree.

La Mesa City Council Candidate's Forum
On
Wednesday, September 28 at La Mesa First UMC, come see the candidates
for La Mesa City council speak of issues of importance. Discussion will
include affordable housing, homelessness, climate action plans and
ballot initiatives. A meet and greet will begin at 6:30 and the forum
begins at 7:00 pm.

Discover Foothills, September 18
On
September 18 at 11:45 am in the youth center, enjoy lunch in a casual
setting where you can learn more about Foothills. Ask questions of
faith, hear about the mission and vision of the church and what it means
to become a member of Foothills UMC. Childcare is available with a

Brewing Faith
Brewing
Faith is an opportunity to have a deeper discussion of faith in a
casual setting with Pastor Eric. The group meets the first Wednesday of
each month at 6 pm, with the next meet-up happening on September 7 at
Hooley's in Grossmont Center.

FUMY Parent Meeting
A
new school year is here and that means a new year of Foothills United
Methodist Youth (FUMY) programming. FUMY is one of the best and most
active youth groups in San Diego. All parents of youth who will be new
to the group are encouraged to come to an information meet and greet on
Sunday, September 18 from 5-6 pm in the youth center.

Alzheimer's: The Signs and Symptoms
Signs
& Symptoms: Is This Normal or is it Alzheimer's? A free workshop is
being offered on Tuesday, September 13 from 10 am - 11:30 am in King
Hall. Learn the difference between the changes associated with normal
aging and the warning signs for Alzheimer's disease, the benefits of
getting a diagnosis early, and important next steps if you are concerned
about yourself or someone you know.

KidsConnect Leaders / Helpers Needed
Be
a KidsConnect Leader or Helper! Children's Ministries is in the midst
of its yearly search for Sunday School Teachers (September through
June). Please prayerfully consider being a part of this ministry to the
children in our church, 3-year-olds to middle schoolers, two or more
Sundays per month at the 10:30am service. KidsConnect uses an
activity/games-based curriculum which makes it fun for you AND the kids.

Introducing Music Director Dennis Keller
Today
marks Dennis Keller's first official day on staff at Foothills UMC and
big Sunday events are coming to introduce him to the congregation. At
9:30 worship on Sunday, September 4, Dennis will be officially
introduced to the congregation while he leads a hymn sing of some of his
