Get Involved and Make a Difference 
Each week we will focus on some of the many ministries and missions that will be on display at 'Launch into Ministry Sunday.' Discover how you can make an impact in the lives of others through our church ministries or community outreach. Bring a friend with you to church on Sunday, Sept. 13 and take your faith to new heights -- as we launch into ministry together!

Grief Support Group
Classes and ongoing grief support groups are available through Foothills to help with understanding the process of mourning after life-changing events.

Women at the Well
A cross generational monthly gathering of women who meet for spiritual enrichment, fellowship, a great dinner and talented speakers.

United Methodist Women
With over one million members worldwide and a focus on supporting missions, this is one of the largest outreach arms of the United Methodist Church.

Next Step Small Group
A small group experience for women who have found themselves at a transition point in their lives.

Mission Works Team
The mission works team meets monthly to make sure our many missions at Foothills have the support they need to continue doing good works.

Created after a visit to Foothills by Jane Goodall, the EarthCare group is focused on creating awareness and options for Foothills to move towards a greener future.

Common Ground
A non profit supported by Foothills that provides support, care, love and nutrition for students at several underprivileged schools in our area.

Foothills Folks
Monthly potluck luncheon meeting and social time with entertainment for seniors.

People Are Important to God
With much coming up in the life of the church,
it's important to focus on adding more life to the church.

What's Happening at Foothills
Launch Into Ministry Sunday  
Foothills' Launch into Ministry Sunday is our Fall programming kick off. All of the many ministry areas of Foothills will be in one large ministry fair in the newly renovated King Hall on Sunday Sept. 13 after worship services. Come see what you can get involved in to grow in faith and community. Take your faith to new heights!
Youth Present Their Mission in Church    
Sunday, Sept 6th at both services, our youths mission team will be presenting a slide show of their recent trip to Mexico where they built a house. They will give testimony to their life changing experience. Please join them as they celebrate and give thanks for their accomplishment.
Focus on Spiritual Growth   
The Spiritual Growth group at Foothills begins an all new session September 21 and meets the first and third Thursdays of the month. Is your prayer life in a rut? Looking for a new way to connect with God? Using silence, art, discussion and reading, this group will grow together towards the spirit. Read More
Discover Foothills on September 27    
After church, at 12 pm on Sunday 9/27, discover that there is so much more to Foothills than just worship at a special no-cost lunch. This time is geared towards providing new and prospective members of the church with more information on the mission, vision and life of Foothills United Methodist Church. Read More
An Evening of Language and Laughter  
Support Common Ground at their annual books-for-kids fundraiser, 9/18 at 7 pm. Special guest Richard Lederer of the show "A Way With Words" will make a memorable and hilarious presentation. Only $10 or a donation of 5 books gets you in the door where there will be great fun, prizes and refreshments. Read More
United Methodist Men's Dinner, Sept. 22
The new season of UMM dinners will begin on September 22 and continue on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Make a point to be in this fellowship group for truly great food and conversations. This month's special guest is Steve Denton of the Maritime Leadership non profit and a tall ship owner and operator. Read More
New Men's Breakfast Group
A new opportunity for men to meet and be in fellowship. The men's breakfast group will meet on Saturday mornings at 7 am, beginning on September 19. The group will discuss books, faith and the Bible and its stories from a man's perspective. Read More
Take a Ride on a Tall Ship    
On Saturday, September 26, all are invited to meet at Marina Cortez at noon for a ride on the tall ship Amazing Grace. The United Methodist Men have put together this opportunity alongside the Maritime Leadership organization. The cost is $60 per person and will be a great fellowship opportunity. Read More
Join the Year-Long Bridge Marathon   
Beginning on September 22 and meeting on the 4th Tuesday of each month, the bridge marathon plays an 8 month long tournament. The buy in is only $35, with most of that going towards charity and some going to prizes. Join in this fun and beneficial activity. Contact Beth Ott to sign up. Read More
UMW cross
The UMW Are Back, September 15  
The first UMW dinner after the summer break will be in King Hall on 9/15 at 6 pm. The group will welcome a speaker from the Good Neighborhood house in Calexico. The food is great, the message is good and the fellowship is superb. Be a part of United Methodist Women this year. Read More
Foothills Folks Hawaiian Luau, 9/9 
The Foothills Folks will welcome Lee Tipps and the Kauai Rainbows to their September luncheon for some islander classics on ukuleles and more. Lee is a 93 year old performer who goes to the islands each year to play his music. Don't miss this great opportunity for fellowship and entertainment. Read More
Disciple (Fast Track) Bible Study 
A 24 week study that will go through the entire Bible, aiming at transformation, not just information, is coming to Foothills. Evening and morning class options will be available and led by Larry Ledford on Wednesdays at 10 am (beginning 9/16) and Sundays at 5 pm (beginning 9/20). Read More
Grief Class thumb
10 Week Grief Classes Coming in September 
Two grief class opportunities will be available starting in September, on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm and Fridays 10 to 11:30 am. The classes will meet weekly over a 10 week period and are designed for those in grief from recent or older events. Reservations are required and must be made by September 1. Read More
Acolyte Trainings through September    
All children in grades 4 and 5 who are interested in becoming an acolyte, please contact Carol Paton through the church office. Acolytes in training will sit in church with current, experienced acolytes during the summer to see how this ministry, which brings the light of Christ to our worship, is conducted. Read More
