On September 10, Foothills held it's annual ministry fair, themed as a farmer's market that will "nourish the soul." It was a great success! Find a ministry area to serve in throughout the year by looking through the Foothills website, if you were unable to attend. We also celebrated and consecrated our KidsConnect teachers during worship for another year of learning and faith.

Upcoming Highlights
Foothills Farmer's Market: Nourish Your Soul - Ministry Fair Results
Thanks to all who participated in this year's ministry fair! 175 drawing entries for Farmer's Table gift cards were submitted, showing a commitment to involvement in all of the 25 Foothills' ministries represented at the fair. The four winning seed packet entry forms (pulled from the basket by Pastor Greg), belong to: Judy Endeman; Becky Harless; Eden Jarrell; and Sarah Robertson. Thanks to the Missions Committee for their generous donation, making this drawing possible.

Cookies Needed for the Kairos Mission
Foothills' Kairos missionaries are headed back to RJ Donovan Correctional Facility, October 19 - 22nd. These men head into the prison in order to bring the word of God, as well as some peace and comfort to "the men in blue" who take part in the program. One of the best parts of the retreat is delivering home-baked, fresh cookies to the participants. Many are needed and the rules for delivery are pretty specific, since they are going into a prison. So please, head to our website to read more and see how you can contribute.
Moms Connect Bakes Kairos Cookies
Moms Connect is a support and fellowship group for mothers of children of all ages that meets every first and third Wednesday of the month. On October 4, the group will be having a special off-campus meeting to bake dozens of cookies for the Kairos prison ministry. This is a great time to get involved and to do something memorable in mission for those in need. For details, contact Pastor Jeanette.
A Rummage Sale Approaches

10/3: Collection - 9 am - 5 pm
10/4: Collection - 9 am - 5 pm
10/5: Sale - 9 am - 5 pm
10/6: Sale - 9 am - 5 pm

What would you guess is one of Foothills' most reliable and profitable fundraisers? If you've been at Foothills for a while, you know it is our twice-yearly rummage sales. These community events consistently raise thousands of dollars to support ministries and missions of this church and draw hundreds of new people through our doors who shop and experience Foothills' hospitality. What better reason to do a little de-cluttering in your own home and make a donation to the next Rummage Sale? Volunteers are greatly needed to make this fundraiser work. Contact Marian Folkner, or just show up and the organizers will put you to work!
New Member Sunday, Bibles for Students and a Scavenger Hunt
September 24, we welcome our newest members during our two hours of worship at 8:30 and 10:30 am. During second service, 4th and 5th grade students will receive Bibles in worship and then get to know them during Kids Connect. Directly after worship, the family worship team has a fun 'Bible Scavenger Hunt' planned for kids and their families in King Hall. Contact Lisa Stewart with and questions.
United Methodist Women Dinner
A new ministry year means a new year of United Methodist Women in ministry. They will be having their first meeting September 19, at 6:00 pm in King Hall. The cost is $12, which includes a catered dinner. The speaker will be Rev. Bill Jenkins of the Christ United Methodist Ministry Center. His ministry center houses a variety of congregations and was formed after an existing United Methodist Church became unable to support itself. Sign up on the patio or by contacting Marion Van Diggelen.
Children's Choirs Resume Soon
Foothills' wonderful children's choirs, led by Julia Wallace, start back up beginning 9/17! The K through 3rd grade students will rehearse on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am in King Hall, while an all-new 4th, 5th, 6th choir and fellowship time starts up on Thursdays from 4:40 - 6:15 pm. St. John's Bible Print Exhibition
In 1998, famous calligrapher Donald Jackson, was commissioned by St. John's Abbey to create an illuminated Bible for the modern age. The work is considered a masterpiece and exquisitely beautiful.
