October Kairos Retreat
Foothills is sending its missionaries back to prison for another Kairos retreat at RJ Donovan correctional facility. The retreat will run from October 27 - 30 and your help is needed to create the greatest impact for those who will be in attendance. The greatest need is for fresh, home-baked cookies that will be given to the inmates. Please bring them bagged by the dozen on Sundays 10/16 and 10/23. Since the cookies are going into a prison, there are specific rules to be followed. Instructions and much more information can be found on our website
Large Food Drive 9/25
The Good Neighbor Center has opened a new location at the Christ United Methodist Ministries Center and their food pantry shelves are bare. Help is needed, and in volume, to get the center ready for the thousands of working poor who will come to its doors. Foothills has been asked to bring canned goods to worship on Sunday 9/25. Please see online what sort of goods are being requested. Donations to the Good Neighbor Center are always welcome and there is a wagon in front of the church doors for your giving each and every Sunday.
Calling All Worldly Scarves
10/2 is world communion day and Foothills is looking to adorn the altar with the many scarves that the congregation has gathered from all around the world. Tag your scarf with your name somehow and bring it to worship on the 2nd.
South District Mission Team Support
The South District of the United Methodist church is sending 25 missionaries from 13 churches, including Foothills' Jim and Paula Perry, to Taylor, Texas from October 1 - 8 to help in flood relief. Please surround them in prayer during this time. If you are able to contribute a small amount to help the members of the team with provisions during their mission, please contribute through the Foothills website.

If your child or grandchild is in grades 4 through 7 and is interested in being an acolyte, sign-ups are happening every Sunday in September in King Hall. Acolytes serve every 4-6 weeks and are an important part of the worship service. They light the candles on the altar, assist the ushers with the offertory, and assist with baptisms. Acolyting is a meaningful step in a child's faith journey -- a path that they take alongside their parents/grandparents and the congregation. Training for new and continuing acolytes will be held October 23 at 11:45am in the choir room.Read More
