Thank You, From the Missions Committee
The Missions Committee sends out Big Blue Bags filled with love and gratitude to all of you who participated in making the just-completed Rummage Sale such a success. There were upwards of 60 people who spent time and a great deal of effort organizing and selling an unprecedented quantity of donated furniture, clothing, household goods, books, etc. gathered at our King Hall.
We especially thank the Truck Guys who made pick-up after pick-up in HOT weather to bring the furniture to us. They cleaned out 3 or 4 households! In addition, they cleaned out the furniture and boxes of clothing that had been stored at Good Shepherd Ministry Center.
Our surrounding community looks forward to the biannual sales at FUMC. They watch for the white sign that we put out on Avocado Blvd. They donate and they buy. It is a wonderful form of outreach that makes all the effort worthwhile. People are greeted with smiles and welcomes and they go away happy with treasures at bargain prices.
Ideally, each and every one of you should receive a hand-written thank you note for all that you did to help. You are all the heart and soul of Foothills.
In God's Love,
The Missions Committee

Last FX of the (School) Year
Sunday May 6th is the last Family eXperience "FX" for the school year. Plan to stay for a meal with other families in King Hall at 11:45am. We'll also do a faith-based project related to the May KidsConnect theme of "honesty -- choosing to be truthful in what you say and do."
Impact Sunday on August 12
You can change the world, right where you are, on Impact Sunday, August 12 at 9:30 am!
Impact Sunday is a day for the church to work "outside our walls," joining together to serve the community as a collective act of worship and service. We will start in the sanctuary for a short call to worship, disperse to several community service projects, and return to gather over food and share our experiences. This is a great opportunity to strengthen our connections with each other and serve our community! The Impact Sunday Planning Team is ramping up. If you'd like to be part of the planning team, contact Molly Jarrell.
Youth Participate in 30 Hour Famine
FUMY will be taking part in the annual 30 hour famine, April 28-29. The group gathers and overnights in the Youth Center to experience the realities of what it feels like to go hungry. While participating in the fast, they will work on community service projects and learn more about the realities of food scarcity in our local area and the broader world. Speak with and congratulate them on Sunday the 29th, as they will be in worship, wearing their 30 hour famine shirts.
God and the Gay Christian Class
The Foothills' Reconciling Committee presents a class on the same-titled book, God and the Gay Christian, by Matthew Vine. Pastor Greg, Rene Markley and Paul Duvall will lead this 4 class session on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm, beginning on May 2 in the Youth Center. The class will use the book as a guide to focus on difficult Bible passages and preconceptions about homosexuality and faith.

Camp Cedar Glen Presents Testimony Tuesday
Every Tuesday until July 10th, Cedar Glen will deliver a testimony from a pastor, parent, volunteer, or camper within the Cedar Glen community. These testimonies will discuss why camping ministry is important to support and sustain our youth. The South District of the Cal-Pac Conference is partnering with Cedar Glen in providing additional funding. After reading a testimony, if you are called to give, the South District will match every dollar of your donation.
All donations will help Cedar Glen campers attend camp regardless of their financial situation.
Visit campcedarglen.org/testimonytuesday for more information.
