Memorial Garden monument

A time of loss is very difficult, but also an important opportunity for family and friends to honor memories, share love, and to reflect on what’s truly meaningful in life. Foothills has staff and volunteers that can provide a special memorial service or funeral, and has resources to help you with the grieving process. We are a loving and caring community and are sensitive to the sorrow you, your family, and friends are experiencing.

Our pastoral staff together with the bereavement coordinator will assist with the content of your memorial service. We will help you select beautiful music, arrange flowers in the sanctuary, print programs, greet guests, and alleviate you from having to attend to the details. You may also have a reception after the service, in either of our two fellowship halls. We will help with reception accommodations if you need us to.

Foothills United Methodist Church is here for you in this time of sorrow. Let us assist in celebrating the life and memory of your loved one.

The Mary Carpenter Memorial Garden

Memorial Garden montage
The Garden
creates a peaceful place to meditate, to pray and to remember loved ones. Benches and seats are placed to enhance privacy and to allow visitors space to reflect. Here is the place to hear….“be still and know that I am God.”

The elegant, granite-faced Memorial Wall which traverses the west side of the garden will be inscribed with the names of loved ones even though their remains are elsewhere.

Columbarium is a wall of niches designed to hold urns of cremated remains. Each niche is capable of accommodating two urns. The face of the niche walls is granite on which the name and life span of loved ones will be engraved.

Since medieval times, Christians have used the Labyrinth walk for spiritual meditations and prayer. A graceful guided walking pattern allows the mind and spirit to be free for reflection as you feel the serenity of the lovely garden setting.
