Worship at Foothills

Pandemic Actions

To mitigate the danger to our community, our worship experience has changed.
Normal worship and gatherings are currently on pause.
Our services will be pre-recorded and posted to YouTube, Facebook and our website each Sunday at 10:00 am, with live interaction available on all of those platforms. There is no account needed to interact and chat during the service on our website.
In-person, worship in the sanctuary is available every Sunday for 100 people at 8:30 am.

December 6 - 2nd Sunday of Advent - Candle of Peace - Communion

Title:
Do Not Be Afraid: Zechariah
Preacher: Rev. Greg Batson
Music: Contemporary - Witness praise band
Scripture: Luke 1:5-25
Details: We continue to prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Jesus Christ in our lives with this story from the Gospel of Luke. It is the announcement by the angel Gabriel to Zechariah and Elizabeth that despite their advanced age, they will have a son. That child will be John the Baptist, a prophet like Elijah, who will prepare the way for the long-awaited Messiah. When Zechariah doubts this news, he becomes mute until his son is born and declares publicly that he will be named John as instructed by the angel. What can we learn from Zechariah's response to God making what is seemingly impossible a reality in our world.
