Stewardship Letter

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren,
as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged,
and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater.

II Thessalonians 1:3

Dear Members and Friends of Foothills,
We’re about to launch into a month of stewardship emphasis as a congregation. Our theme is, Open and Affirming. Our leadership has a continuing challenge: to invite you not only to a committed relationship to Jesus Christ, but to grow each year toward becoming more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ with an ever deepening connection with God. Stewardship emphasis is the time to invite you to take another step in your spiritual growth.

There are six areas to consider: Prayer - Bible reading – Worship – Witness - Financial giving - Service

Our spiritual growth as followers and disciples of Jesus is inseparably intertwined with our growing understanding in these areas. This is a broad view of stewardship – it’s not just about money. During the next few weeks we will offer an opportunity for you to consider and connect more deeply with these six areas as we worship together on Sundays. On Sunday, November 6, All Saints Sunday, we will offer our financial pledges to God for the ministry of Foothills.

This next month promises to be an exciting time of anticipation as we look ahead to what is possible both in our own lives and in our congregational choices for the future. Foothills is poised to move into a powerful year in 2017.
God Bless you,
John Kolb - Stewardship Chair
